Nate and his Pony! It took a while, but he really likes it now. It was a birthday gift from Nana and Pap Pap. Yes, that's the Teletubbies in the background. UGH!

Thursday Thirteen #17
Thirteen reasons this is a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad night.
Yes, I stole it from my favorite Children's book!
1. My son has the stomach flu ~ at least I'm hoping that's what it is...he's puked 5 times already. This is the first time he's really been sick. I'm a nervous wreck.
2. I have to go to the doctor's office again on Friday...then again on Tuesday...and if I don't have the baby before the following Tuesday I'll have to go back again! ARGH! I know it's for the best, but it really stinks!
3. My husband's car needed work done ~ we really didn't budget for that. (Thank goodness we are going to have a little help with that!)
4. I've been having contractions on and off for what seems like a month. I know it's probably only been about 4 days ~ but some of them hurt enough for me to stop and look at the clock...to no avail, though.
5. I know that soon I will be going into labor ~ I didn't enjoy it the first time. I know that this time I'll be more prepared, but I'm still not excited about the pain - I'm excited about the baby...but not the pain.
6. It's 2:30 am and I'm not sleeping ~ this is in part due to the fact that my son has been puking once an hour for the last 5-6 hours...and my husband has to work tomorrow. I can't keep him up all night, it wouldn't be fair...but I'm kinda tired...scared to sleep...but kinda tired.
7. I need to go grocery shopping ~ I hate grocery shopping.
8. I need to take a shower because I smell like puke.
9. I'm out of paper towels and laundry soap - really bad when you have a puking kid!
10. I'm not going to get to visit many TTs tonight ~ I'm hoping to make up for it tomorrow.
11. I really wish that it wasn't so early in the morning...I'd really like to call the pediatrician and make sure Nate doesn't need to be seen.
12. I spent about 20 minutes reading up on dehydration ~ My husband and I are both a little bit on the hypochondriac side...It makes me even more nervous to be overly informed about things.
13. Chances are I'm next to puke...after all Nate spends almost every waking minute of the day with me. If he has the flu there is little chance I'm going to escape unharmed.

Quick Update on Doctor Visit
Well ~ I had another ultrasound today and it's "confirmed" that there is a girl in there. Up to this point they had just been telling us that there were no "boy parts" but today they saw "girl parts"...so I feel a little bit better about all the pink. :)
The ultrasound said that the baby was measuring about 9.2 lbs. The tech also said it varies by up to 1.4 lbs (plus or minus). So...she's not going to be teeny tiny ~ but I'm not overly concerned about it. Nate was 8 lbs 6 oz. I'm sure it'll be just fine. I was 1 cm dilated and 50%...the midwife also said that she could feel the top of the baby's head during the exam - so she's right there! :)
I have to go in to the office again for a non stress test on Friday. They are just "checking" the baby's heart rate and such. I'm hoping that I'll go into labor tonight or tomorrow so I don't have to go ~ they talked about possibly inducing me on the 26th if I haven't gone yet. I don't think I want that at all. I'm going to hold off until she's ready, unless there are any problems and she has to come sooner. :)
Okay, I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted and need a good night's sleep.

Pics of the Man Cub
PS ~ I was inspired to add these pics because of Beth - over at So the Fish Said - who posted adorable pics of her Mia in a stylish sombrero. :)
Weekend Doings - busy but uneventful
Well, I'm still here ~ no baby yet. :) I'm feeling pretty good all around. I have been having some minor contractions at night...they probably start around 7 or so and go on and off most of the night. One woke me up Saturday night...but I fell back asleep and didn't have any more after that. I'm hoping that all this means when I go to see the midwife tomorrow she tells me I'm 3 cms dilated (or more!) but I'm not going to hold my breath...
We are going tomorrow for an Ultrasound, too. She said she'd like to know how big the baby is ~ I would, too! I'm a little excited. I've been having dreams about having a really easy labor and how beautiful the new baby is going to be...I even had a dream last night that she was going to have red hair like my niece, Angelina. I also had a dream she was a blondie like her brother...so, she'll probably be a brunette! :)
Friday, I got my furniture for the new baby's room! My mother-in-law took me to K-mart and we found the Armoire that I was looking at and she bought it for us! We had to have Jerry's Uncle Bob come pick it up for us because it was too big and heavy for any of us. :) I'm still waiting for Jerry to build it, though...that's a whole different story.
Then, I went to my sister's house for a small party for her husband's birthday. The cake they had was adorable. It had a picture of Jason when he was probably around 18 months old. He was wearing a Steeler's outfit and the cake said something along the lines of "Biggest Steeler Fan for 30 years now!" :) Very cute.
Saturday, I took Nate and we went shopping. I was determined to get the heck out of the house and spend some money...it was just the mood I was in and it really did make me feel a lot better. I got material for curtains for the new baby's room. I picked up a pattern for her Christening gown (my mom is going to use the material from my wedding dress to make the gown ~ I'm really excited about it!). I also went to Babies R Us just to look around ~ it was nuts because they were having some kind of a Baby Shower event and there were pregnant women everywhere! I had to laugh because so many of them were whining!
"But that's not the one I want!", "That's the one I want but I wanted it in green!", "We have to get it now...the red sticker means that they don't have any more!" hehehe
So, I bought a hamper for the new baby's room, a picture to hang on the wall that says, "Thank Heaven for Little Girls", and a pack of pink hangers. :) Oh, and a milestone calendar - a pink one that is just like the one I have for Nate.
Then we went to the mall...Nate and I ate Chick-fil-a for lunch. He had a few chicken nuggets and I had a chicken sandwich. We shared a fruit bowl. Then headed to Boscov's. I bought 2 baby girl outfits there and a toy car for Nate (because he didn't get enough at Christmas, right?). I also got a little "medical" kit for the baby's diaper bag. My sister has one and loves it...so I thought I'd pick one up, too. It has a thermometer in it and a few other things I always seem to misplace. Having it all in one place will help.
Sunday, we went to 11 o'clock mass ~ Nate decided to share his Goldfish with everyone sitting around us by throwing them all over the place (what fun!). After mass, we came home and Jerry and I both didn't feel too hot. He took a nap and I fell asleep with Nate for a little bit. Then, I had to get dressed to go to the funeral home. (My Aunt Gretchen's mother passed away) I went to the funeral home with my sister and then picked Nate up and went to my parent's house for a little bit...that's where my aunt and uncle were going to go in between viewings.
When I got home I was a little ticked off that Jerry hadn't done anything (mainly build the Armoire like he said he would). So, I took Nate upstairs and started to clean. Yes, I'm still nesting. Finally, when I was exhausted from running around, Jerry decided to put the Armoire together...with all of it's little pieces spread out all over the living room floor. What on earth am I suppose to do with a 14 month old who has to stay on the couch? ARGH!
Well ~ that was my weekend. My Armoire isn't finished, yet...but Jerry promises that he will finish it tonight. I'm going to try to take a shower and finish going through some baby clothes upstairs while Nate takes his afternoon nap...I'm just hoping it's one of those 2 hour naps he's been taking every day for the last week! :)
